Can you give me a good reason for Romania should join Schengen?

Now they made this great show of arresting border security and a few CEO and fight off cigar shipping.But that's not a good reason for the Minister of Defense decided to cut off food right on their cops so cops are starving now,a former military burned himself in solidarity with the officers that their retirement was cut with 67% that is from 800-900 Euros retirement.So when cops are starving in the streets,why in the world would you want Romania in Schengen?II really want a logical answer on this matter please!
