Do you agree with Newsweek that "Social Security Is Middle-Class Welfare"?
In the strictest sense, yes. The real concern is that the exactly the right issues have been floated over the last 30 years to keep the working class fighting among themselves so they dont notice the REAL wealth redistribuition has gone from the middle class -whose wages have actually gone down- to the top 1% who went from owning 8% to almost 25% of the wealth in under 30 years. CEOs have gone from making 30x what their employees make to 350x. And we still fight amongst ourselves for the scraps that are left. So yes, lets abolish social security too. How about the FDIC? How about any safety net. Our poverty rate isnt quite embarrasing enough yet.
