How come the Top 10 Best Countries in the World are Liberal?

How do you define "best"? I just can't believe people actually think Europe is a nice place to live. Visit, sure, but I could never live there. First, everything is 3 times more expensive than in the US. Second, the standard of living is crap. Middle class families are forced to live in cramped apartments and many times they cannot even afford a car. Not to mention that most of the housing there is old and rundown. Oh, did I forget the taxes. Yeah, their taxes are so high you would be lucky to keep half of what you earn.
