If I buy a japanese PS2 console and play japanese games on my TV,will it work? I live in Europe,Romania.?

I really wish to buy some japanese PS2 games. And I wanted to know if I'll buy a japanese console will it work with my TV,taking in consideration that I live in Europe,Romania.
