What the hell is up with Vampires and France?

France, has a long history of vampire lore. In fact it has been suggested in many novels and by vampire experts, that the guillotine was invented to deal with vampires. As you have said there are many books on vampires in France. You have to think of it as one of their national icons. Just like one of the icons for the US is the cowboy, the vampire is the same for much of Europe.
